Straumann research activities

Currently we have 230 research activities running to support and further test the benefits of our products. The scope of our research activities includes basic laboratory investigations through to randomized multi-center clinical trials (RCTs) to support market releases and post-market surveillance programs. These investigations are conducted both in-house and in collaboration with experts at well-known facilities worldwide, ensuring that the research is state-of-the-art, scientifically sound and of high quality.

International Team for Implantology (ITI)

A portion of the annual ITI research funds is allocated to applications on specific areas of interest defined by the ITI Research Committee. The following priority areas will be the focus of the ITI Research Committee's deliberations for the triennium 2018 - 2020:

• Protocols for reduced invasiveness with improved efficiency
• Prevention and management of biologic and technical complications in implant dentistry
• Digital technologies in implant dentistry
• Innovative materials and techniques for hard and soft tissue integration and regeneration

Research grant applications for other implant-dentistry-based research will of course still be welcomed.

International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)

Implant Dentistry Research & Education Foundation (IDREF) was established in 1993 in order to substantially advance the science and quality of practice of implant dentistry and to foster high standards of research and education for all dental professionals. Through IDREF the ICOI raises needed funds to support these goals.
