Foundation of MEDENTiKA®
In 2005, Medentika was established by Bernd Gaddum, Frank Fix, and Jürgen Kälber in Hügelsheim, Germany. Their vision was to offer high-quality abutments at fair prices. This vision became the foundation for the innovative company we are today.
2007
The Birth of the Titanium base
In 2007, we introduced the first generation of the titanium base, marking our entry into the market and establishing ourselves as pioneers in this field. This was just the beginning of our journey.

EXPANDING OUR HORIZONS WITH IMPLANTS
Initially focused on Multi-Platform Systems, we responded to customer demand by developing our first high-precision implant in 2009. Our implant portfolio has since grown to include four different systems, showcasing our commitment to quality and innovation.

ADVANCING WITH THE TITANIUM BASE 2ND GENERATION
In 2011, we launched the second generation of the titanium base, featuring two chimney heights and an adapted emergence profile, offering more variety and flexibility for dental professionals.

PREFACE ABUTMENTS – THE DIGITAL GAME CHANGER
2013 was a landmark year for Medentika with the introduction of PreFace abutments in CoCr and titanium. These abutments revolutionized digital dentistry, providing new opportunities for customization and precision.

INTEGRATION WITH STRAUMANN
Also in 2013, Straumann acquired a majority stake in Medentika, allowing us to benefit from their extensive resources and expertise. This partnership has been instrumental in our growth and success.

FIRST PRODUCTION SITE IN RENNINGEN
As our company expanded, we established our first production site in Renningen near Stuttgart. This facility enabled us to increase capacity while maintaining our commitment to 'Made in Germany' quality.

NOVALOC® & OPTILOC® INNOVATIONS
In 2016, we launched Novaloc® and Optiloc®, featuring an amorphous diamond-like carbon (ADLC) surface. These innovations provided exceptional performance for a wide range of implant systems.

BECOMING A STRAUMANN GROUP MEMBER
2016 was also the year we became an official member of the Straumann Group, further solidifying our position in the global dental market.

In 2020, we opened a new production site in Calw, Germany, featuring the MedentiTEC Training & Education Center. This state-of-the-art facility offers dynamic insights into our production process and underscores our commitment to education and innovation.

In 2023, Medentika reached a significant milestone by securing key regulatory certifications, including MDR and MDSAP. These achievements reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance, safety, and quality, further solidifying our reputation for excellence in dental implantology and dental prosthetics.
