The authors evaluated long-term outcomes of a multicenter randomized controlled trial of immediate and early loaded dental implants with a hydrophilic and chemically active surface (SLActive®) in the posterior maxilla or mandible.
They report the cumulative implant survival rate was 98.23% after 10 years. Moreover, after the initial remodeling phase (5 to 6 months) no significant differences between the two treatment groups were detected with regard to crestal bone level.
Therefore, the authors conclude: “Implants with the SLActive surface show successful long-term outcomes following immediate or early loading”.
This is the first article on long term performance of SLActive® implants article adds a value and confirms already published data about excellent long-term performance of Straumann implants.
