Since one year, I have my fixed restoration on implants and I am very satisfied with it. And I must say: with this fixed solution, one does not need to worry anymore! I live as I have lived before. However, it was not always like this. Before I got my fixed restoration, I have been wearing conventional dentures for 2 years. On the lower jaw, I had a denture that was attached with magnets and on the upper one, a denture with metal clam attachments. It was not comfortable and every two three months I had to adjust both prostheses at the dentists, because they were not holding well. As one can imagine, this was quite expensive.

I’m 82 now and my general therapist told me that with my good health I have good chances to grow very old! So I gave fixed restoration a good thought before I made my decision. I had been spending a substantial amount only for the maintenance of my removable denture each year, not counting the price of the prosthesis itself. So, considering my life expectancy, I came to the conclusion that a fixed, implant-borne restoration would be a very good investment!

Conventional dentures? They are a shaky thing. My grandmother used to have a conventional denture and she had to polish it often with a small file so that it would stick in her mouth. I decided that I want to have a better solution that is durable and that did not generate costs for constant maintenance anymore. So I started to investigate who could deliver the treatment I was looking for.

After some referrals and recommendations, I found a clinician who offered me the fixed solution I was looking for. In the beginning, he said that such a treatment will take 3-6 months to complete. I asked for the shortest time possible, so we opted for an immediate loading procedure. I am a very interested and also critical person, so, before the treatment, I learned a lot about the solution I was to obtain, and also about the manufacturer and all the screws and small parts that would be used. My clinician explained me every step that he would be performing.

I have been wearing my fixed restoration for two years now and I enjoyed it very much so far. Cleaning is convenient now and I can recommend it to everybody looking for a full-arch solution!
