How ClearCorrect Works

The premier clear aligner. Find out why many UK dentists are making the switch

History of ClearCorrect

To understand how ClearCorrect works it's important we take a step back to understand how ClearCorrect started.

ClearCorrect was founded back in 2006 by a dentist, Dr. Willis Pumphrey, who had over 400 patients who needed to finish their clear aligner treatment, after the company that was providing the aligners went out of business.

So Dr. Pumphrey went the extra mile for his patients. Instead of turning these patients away, he decided to manufacture the aligners himself. He founded his own company and with his wealth of knowledge, created an aligner that his patients loved and gave them the results they wanted.

One by one, other dentists started reaching out to Dr. Willis Pumphrey to manufacture aligners for their patients.

Pumphrey’s solution and ClearCorrect started to grow. And in 2017, ClearCorrect was acquired by the Straumann Group.

Today, ClearCorrect has served tens of thousands of dentists all over the world and has delivered millions of aligners to their patients.

Through it all, we’ve made it our priority to listen to our providers and to put their needs first. That’s what’s kept us in business for over 18 years, and that’s how we know we’ll always be here.

ClearCorrect is an aligner made by dentists for dentists

The ClearCorrect Aligner System

When it comes to clear aligners, most people won’t know your patient is wearing them. And that’s a big deal with ClearCorrect aligners, but that’s not the whole story. If you want to know what makes ClearCorrect aligners so special, we’ll have to get into the science.

The ClearQuartz™ Tri-layer Material

ClearQuartz features an elastomeric layer (A) between two resilient, low-porosity shells (B). The outer layers allow the aligner to be tough and stain-resistant, while the inner layer allows the aligner to apply gentle, consistent pressure. Even better, ClearQuartz retains 10x more of its initial force than other aligners,* and retains its shape throughout the wear time of the aligner.

The ClearCorrect Trimline

To work, orthodontic devices have to stay on, and that’s exactly what ClearCorrect aligners are best at. Other aligners relax and lose grip over the wear time. ClearCorrect aligners are specifically designed to move teeth with fewer engagers effectively. In fact, due to their smooth flat trimline that extends past the teeth, ClearCorrect aligners are 2.5x more retentive than aligners with a scalloped trimline. Without the need for additional engagers, making results more predictable and your patients will love the outcome.

What Malocclusion Cases Can ClearCorrect be used to treat?

The types of results that can be achieved with clear aligners is mainly dependent on the skill and experience of the treating clinician.

Smiles come in all shapes and sizes, and so do malocclusions. ClearCorrect can straighten a wide variety of smiles in both teens and adults. Some common cases dentists use our aligners to treat are;

Let's look at some common malocclusions dentists treat with the ClearCorrect aligners;

Overjet

Overjet, commonly known as "buck teeth," refers to the horizontal gap between the upper and lower front teeth, where the upper teeth protrude beyond the lower ones.

Crossbite

Crossbite occurs when the upper and lower teeth do not align properly horizontally. It may manifest as a posterior crossbite (back teeth misalignment) or an anterior crossbite (front teeth misalignment).

Open Bite

Open bite is characterised by a gap between the upper and lower front teeth when the jaws are closed, preventing the teeth from making contact.

Deep Bite

Deep bite, or overbite, occurs when the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower front teeth vertically.

Crowding

Crowding is the result of insufficient space in the jaw for all teeth, causing them to overlap or twist.

Spacing

Spacing refers to gaps or spaces between teeth, commonly known as diastema

Edge-to-Edge

This occurs when the upper teeth meet the lower teeth one to one

Midline Shift

When there is a discrepancy of the midsagittal line of maxillary and the mandibular dental arches.
